6 Things To Try At Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge

Updated: Aug 5, 2019

Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge officially opens on May 31st, 2019 and here are some of the things that you won't want to miss when you make your first visit to the Black Spire Outpost.

1. The Droid Depot

At the Droid Depot you can build your own custom droid! Choose from numerous combinations of colors and designs of the BB or R2 variety that you can take home.

2. Merchandise, Costumes & Creatures

While there are numerous shopping opportunities, what makes them great is that each shop has unique decor. Beyond what you can buy, there are creatures and artifacts on display that are part of the atmosphere.

They even have plush Porg puppets and fun shoulder pets similar in animation style to the ones that can be found in Pandora: The World of Avatar in Walt Disney World in Orlando, Florida

What TMR was excited for though was the Star Wars themed clothing. We were impressed that the pieces could be worn as street fashion or as cosplay pieces.

3. Savi's Workshop

Here is where you can build your own light saber. You start by choosing your kyber crystal and then build your hilt yourself. They are made of metal and are battle ready, complete with interactive lights and sound.

4. The Milk Stand

Head over the the milk stand to get your own green or blue, bantha milk. But don't worry, for $7.99, it's not just a glass of colored milk. It’s slushy, light and refreshing with flavors of pineapple and watermelon and the blue milk contains dragon fruit. It is a rice based milk that has a creamy coconut finish but is more watery than rich, which should be good on a hot day at the park.

5. Oga's Cantina

Probably the hippest place in all of Galaxy's Edge, here you can get alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages and some light pub grub. Don't forget to check out the tunes that are being spun by DJ- R3X! AKA, the original droid pilot from Star Tours!

6. Smuggler's Run

This is the ride where you and your friends can pilot the Millenium Falcon! It is a ride simulator where you control your flight path so every time you ride, it's different!
